Meet
Mom's Sister - Aunt Abby
Mom
and Abby are twins - so close they're almost the same.
Except Aunt Abby hates going shopping - hard to believe,
isn't it? She's the family expert on Internet shopping.
So, if you want to know where to find bargains and discounts
on the Internet - Ask Aunt Abby |
Dear Aunt Abby,
I know it's still early, but I'm already dreading holiday shopping
this year. I can't even think about gearing up to do it this
year so I'm willing to try the Internet way. I have four grandchildren,
ages 2, 5, 8 and 10. Where can I find good quality toys without
spending a fortune? And how do I know what they will like?
Grandma Elaine / Minneapolis |
Dear
Elaine,
Wow, my sister is really jealous that you live in Minneapolis.
Not only is it much cooler than where we live - but you also
have that huge Mall of America right in your hometown.
I
can sympathize with you on the holiday shopping. Ten mules couldn't
drag me to the mall anytime after the first of November each
year.
I've
bought all my grandchildrens' toys online for the past three
years. If you start now and shop around you should be able to
find some great bargains. I always look for shopping sites that
have shopper feedback. One of my all-time favorites is Toys & Games at Amazon.com
Products
are broken down into age groups to help you know what's appropriate
for each child. The descriptions are excellent and include feedback
from customers. Once you sign up as a customer you get notified
of special discounts on products and shipping. I've always ordered
sale items and managed to get free shipping most of the time.
But
I think the best thing about the products at Amazon.com is that kids and parents love the toys. Check it out
and let me know what you think.

Hello,
This is Ed (Abby's husband). I'd like to encourage you to
send Abby lots of questions about internet shopping. She's
like a bloodhound when she starts searching for something
- won't give up until she's sure she has the best answer.
Sometimes I think she should have been a detective. |
You're probably thinking "isn't that nice - Ed wants
to help Abby with her column". Well, I do want to
help her but I also want to keep her busy so she will
slow down on making those long "honey-do" lists!
So,
PLEASE Ask Aunt Abby to help you find what you're
looking for on the internet. |
