If you can get it for free
then you will almost always find a use for it
I simply cannot pass up the opportunity to combine a sale price with a coupon and get something for FREE. I've purchased non-perishable grocery and household items with double and triple coupons that ended up being free or costing a few cents. If our family can't use the items, they make wonderful donations to local food banks and charities.

Sales Flyers (continued)
OK - back to the sale flyers. Another thing to look for is in-store coupons. Maybe little Susie needs a new pair of shoes. Check your favorite department and discount store flyers. Many times they will offer 10%, 20% or more off the regular price with a special store coupon. Sometimes the coupons are even good off the lowest sale price.

Drug store flyers often include special in-store coupons for household, personal and even grocery items. These are terrific because most stores will allow you to use their in-store coupon and a manufacturer coupon on the sale items. What a deal!

Another group of sale flyers to watch is office supply stores. I have to admit that I'm an office supply junkie. I love cruising the aisles looking at new types of pens, binders and page protectors. I know, it's sad that someone would covet paper products instead of diamonds - but everyone has their quirks. Anyway, check out these flyers too. They contain great sales and rebate deals - with many items free after the sale price and mail-in rebate. (Remember Mom's Rule #2)

The rest of the Sunday paper should contain some good reading - if you have time for that. At least take time to scan through the rest of the paper. Not only will you find out what's going on in the world - you might find more coupons. Look for special offers from restaurants, entertainment venues, travel and sports.

If you receive the paper each day get into the habit of skimming through looking for good deals. Typically Wednesday's paper will include recipes and some manufacturer's coupons. There are many more sources for coupons, which we will explore later. But first, we need to...
