Coupon Recipe It's Finally Done!
(well, almost)

Contests / Prizes
In each newsletter I try to include a "Coupon Recipe". If you're wondering what that is - it's a recipe that has several ingredients that we can get free or cheap with coupons.
The recipe today is:

Stuffed
Peppers

from
AllRecipes

There were coupons for the sausage and rice in last Sunday's newspaper inserts.

Ingredients:
>6 large green bell peppers
>1 pound ground sausage
>1 large onion, chopped
>2 (10.75 ounce) cans tomato soup
>2 2/3 cups water
>1 tablespoon chili powder
>1 tablespoon garlic powder
>salt and pepper to taste
>1 pound Cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
>3 cups uncooked instant rice

Instructions:
1. Slice tops off of green peppers; r.move seeds and membranes, and rinse well. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add peppers and cook for 15 minutes, or until tender-crisp.

2. Place sausage and onions in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Reduce heat to medium and stir in tomato soup, water, chili powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper; bring to a low boil. Reduce heat to low, stir in 3/4 of cheese and simmer for 1 hour.

3. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

4. Prepare instant rice according to package instructions. Fluff with a fork and then stir into tomato mixture. Simmer for 30 minutes.

5. Spoon rice mixture into peppers.

6. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Sprinkle remaining cheese on peppers and place under broiler until cheese is melted and bubbly.

After months of design and content changes the "new and improved" MomSaves.com is finally live and online. There are still some areas where I want to add more information - and a few design tweaks - but I'm really happy with how it's turned out.

I want to thank all of you who contributed couponing tips to our TIP MONEY Contest. You will find many of those tips scattered throughout the site. I know they are going to be greatly appreciated by everyone who reads them.

And for those of you who sent in coupon organizer tips months and months ago for the e-book I promised - well the book didn't get written. I struggled and struggled with the e-book software and finally gave up. But I did add those ideas to a special section of this new version of MomSaves.com. You can find all those tips here. Thank you to all those great couponers too.

Now I have to say a big THANKS to my long-suffering web designer Pam at DesignCreations4U who put up with my 9 million "can we do this?" questions and about that many changes before we got to our final product. She did a great job.

Thanks also to my daughter Kristi for putting her college assignments on hold several times to help me get the background I wanted for the site. I wanted something that showed MomSaves is all about "saving money" and I think the piggybank theme we ended up with is perfect. Plus, Dolly - the pig who posed for the background - ended up being a very important part of our MomSaves family. More about that later.

One more big THANK YOU goes to Shera at Sweet and Simple designs who created my new MomSaves Blog theme. She completed the assignment quickly and professionally even though she was dealing with a family flu epidemic at the time.

I hope I have thanked everyone who helped make this new MomSaves design a reality. If I missed someone - please forgive me. I'm still sleep deprived from all the late nights that went into adding the new content and graphics.

This website has been my "baby" since 2003 and I'm thrilled to see it growing and becoming a better resource for all couponers. I hope you will take a few minutes to look over the site and let me know what you think about it. You can email me with questions or comments - mom@momsaves.com

Happy Couponing!
Kathleen ("Mom")

MomFixIt
HandyWoman Advice
from "Kate's Korner"

I'm excited about bringing MomFixIt back to the MomSaves website. You may remember we had this section several years ago but I had to discontinue it because I simply did not have enough time to do the project articles.

Now we have a new guest contributor - Kate Julian - a real "handywoman" who not only fixes things around her house - she also works with Tomboy Tools to teach women how to do home repairs. Read about Kate here
